This is an old dredge...they used to use these to scrape the bottoms of the rivers and sift out the gold...you will see these old things ALL OVER and along the rivers....just abandoned...there are so many of them. It just sets my mind back in time to the gold rush in the early 1900's how this community was thriving with gold miners!! Just when you think you are where no man has ever gone before....you see and old dredge on the river. :) I wanted so badly to go inside but was scared of maybe a bear jumping out and eating me...I would of course try to throw Iran to the bear first ...... but did not want to take any chances on getting eaten.
