Train to Nowhere

This is the "train to nowhere"....I think I had taken a picture of it last summer and posted it on this blog. Iran and I just love to go here. There sits a train in the middle of NO WHERE....that is why everyone calls it the "train to nowhere". The history is posted next to it. In the early 1900's during the gold rush they thought it would be easier to transport goods from the ocean to the TINY town of Solomon (approx. 26 miles from Nome). When they ran out of funds 10 miles to the destination and a big snow storm stopped the train where in now sits. A sad story ending......but beautiful sight in it's own way.
